During my blogging life so far, I’ve found some little things that have helped to promote my blog and I thought I would share these with you. Hope this helps in someway, enjoy!

Music I’m Loving #2

Realised I haven’t done a “Music I’m Loving” post in a little while so in this one, I’ll be catching you guys up with what music I’ve been listening to and loving recently. Here we go..

Okay so I’m thinking of starting a new series of posts in which I will pick out a select number pieces from high street and/or online shops that I’ve got my eye on. First up, my first love – ASOS!

As many of my friends would know, I could sing ASOS’ praises for years, its my go to whenever I’ve got a big do coming up, need a bit of retail therapy or…just procrastinating. Bottom line is, there’s always a reason for me to go to ASOS. My saved items is never ending so we’ll be here for a while if I went through all of them so I’m just going to share with you my current favourite pieces at the moment.

I’ve provided links underneath the image to all the products shown and/or have a click on the image itself to have a look on my Polyvore page which you can also see here.

asos picks

1. ASOS Pencil Skirt In Sweat With Wrap Detail

My midi and pencil skirt collection seems to grow every time I go shopping, they’re my fave style of skirt and i think the unique wrap detail of this skirt will make a lovely little addition to my wardrobe.

2. ASOS Curve Exclusive Culotte Shorts In Mono Check Print

The monochrome check print grabbed me and I can imagine its one of those pieces that can be nicely dressed down for a sunny day or dressed up into smart casual for a nice meal out for example. Might even be nice paired with black tights and booties in the chillier temperatures – I’m yet to find out!

3. ASOS FOSTER Leather Flat Sandals

Okay so even though summer is soon coming to an end, I’m still hoping to bag these sandals to have in the bank for spring and summer. I love the thick criss-cross detail they have for the straps; almost like a cross over between the ever faithful gladiator sandal and pool sliders.

4. ASOS Shell Top in Textured Faux Fur

I already loved the cut of the top before I noticed it had a faux fur texture to it, so I’m sold! Its cute, little quirky and the simple dark colours allows it to be paired with almost anything. I’m thinking of throwing it over a midi, high waisted/mom jeans or just some skinnies – either way its bound to look gooood.

5. ASOS Fluffy Crop Jumper

Anyone else getting a Clueless vibe from this jumper or is that just me? Probably just me, but still – its cute! If I was to get this, it’d definitely be worn in the a/w months, maybe with a cute patterned skater skirt, tights and boots combo.

6. ASOS CURVE Duster Coat

This one I can imagine is a bit like Marmite – you either love it or you hate it. I LOVE it – (the price not so much). Even though I’m quite short, I do like a long line oversized coat and I find when pieces like this are paired with more fitted items underneath its a lot more figure flattering. I’d probably add a nice chunky belt around the waist to make it more flattering to my shape and give it that little extra something.

So I now have a sudden urge to add these all to my basket, which is never such a great idea for my bank account! Are you loving anything from ASOS at the moment? Be sure to let me know in the comments below.

Beauty Wishlist #1

I’ve been meaning to do a Beauty Wishlist post for sometime now but I kept finding my list growing and never ending which would’ve been a lengthy post. In a bid to save money, I’ve been putting together wishlists, so in this post I’m just gonna share some  of the main beauty buys I’m looking to get when I’m feeling a bit indulgent.

1. L’Oreal True Match Foundation

ture macth foundation

I’ve been seeing the TV ad for this foundation everywhere and was intrigued to see if they would find a match for my skin tone which I find to be rare. I did the quiz online and it came up with shade N8/N9. I tried the tester out in Superdrug the other day and I was pleasantly surprised that it matched well! So at only £9.99, its looking like a contender for my usual Maybelline New York FitMe Foundation (shade 355). You can find your True Match shade here.

2. Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Foundation

Now I usually admire higher end brands from far because I don’t feel like I can justify spending £30 on a sole product when I can get a few  for the same price that work just as well for me. This being said, I’m very tempted to get this foundation after seeing generally positive reviews and pictures of it – it seems to give a very even yet natural finish to the skin which is always nice. At the moment I’m guessing I’d be a cross between Rich Chesnut and Rich Cocoa and maybe Spice but I’ll definitely be on the look out for testers and samples on my next department store trip to find my shade,

3. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Black Cherry

revlon balck cherry

This has now been upgraded to a “must-have” on my list. I was in town the other day and did a swatch of the lipstick and i LOVED the colour – on my skin, it came up as a lovely burgundy colour which is a *slight* change to my usual red or plum. What I love most about this lipstick is that it stays on – the swatch I had on was still apparent after a good 12 hours (even after a good scrub!). So yeah definitely getting this lipstick as it ticks all the boxes for me: great quality, gorgeous colour AND affordable – its only £7.49 in most shops!

So these are top on my never ending beauty wishlist, what are your top beauty buys on your wishlist? if you’ve got any of these, I’d love to know what you thought of them in the comments below!

Thanks again for reading and don’t forget to follow on Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and Bloglovin to keep up to date with future posts!

Until next time,

Music I’m Loving #1

This post has come about because I’ve recently been reunited with my laptop and iTunes library so I’ve now been able to update my iPod after about 5 months. (I know, I don’t understand how I coped either but shout out to Youtube and Grooveshark for supporting me through this hard time). Let’s begin:

British band Rixton, (from left to right) Lewi, Danny, Jake and Charley

British band Rixton, (from left to right) Lewi, Danny, Jake and Charley

Its safe to say I have developed a new obsession in the form of British band Rixton. After Shazaming one of their songs ‘Me and My Broken Heart’ thinking it was a new Maroon 5 track and before you know it I’ve spent all night searching every interview, cover, performance they’ve done and fallen in love. Like deeply in love. Their success started off in USA after a whirlwind of being signed by Scooter Braun (responsible for the likes of Bieber, Ariana Grande and The Wanted), having their single played on Ryan Seacrest and performing on Ellen, The Voice USA and supporting Ariana and Biebs on tour. They are definitely up there on my concert wishlist and I can’t wait to see them do even bigger things here in the UK. My favourite songs of their’s are Appreciated, Me and My Broken Heart (OUT NOW BTW), Speakerphone and their newest one Wait On Me.

2. Kiesza – Giant In My Heart

The amount of times I replayed the Hideaway video is ridiculous, I’m still in love with it now. I’m a sucker for choreography and 90s so it would be cray if I didn’t love Kiesza. I just love how she channels that old-skool vibe in her music and videos. I won’t lie, I was wary as to whether this would be as big of a hit as Hideaway but Kiesza has DELIVERED. The video’s a little different to Hideaway but you still see her KILLING that choreography along with two backing dancers in black. I’m waiting to hear this on a night out so I can go OFF on the dancefloor but until then I’ll have the video on repeat and jam alone in my room. Make sure you grab it on 10th August in UK!

3. MAGIC! – Rude

I. Can’t. Stop. Singing. This. Song. I was literally flicking through the music channels on telly one day and saw this, never heard it before so I stayed on, watched and listened. Since then, every few minutes or so I can pretty much guarantee I will be singing a lyric from this song; out loud, in my head, humming – the song is sung in some way. ( *SINGS AT TOP OF LUNGS* CAN I HAVE YOUR DAUGHTER FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE? SAY YES SAY YES ‘CAUSE I NEED TO KNOW). There have definitely been mixed reviews on the song  but I can definitely say I’m a fan. I love his voice, his awkward (yet cool) dancing in the video and the reggae feel to in the melody. Give the video a watch and whether you like it or loathe it, prepare to have it stuck in your head for some time.

4. M.O – Dance on My Own

My girlssss! I love love LOVE these girls so much and the throwback feel they bring with their style and sound. I always have such major style and hair envy whenever I see their pics pop up on Instagram. Their newest single is called Dance on My Own and like their other songs alike, I’ve fallen hard for this one. I’m still so sad that I missed them touring with Little Mix earlier this year (my exams clashed with the tour dates waaaaah) but couldn’t be prouder to see how far they’ve come since the Wait Your Turn days and I just know they’re gonna be BIG. I can’t wait to see what else they’ve got in store (fingers crossed an album…!?) so I would highly recommend you check these girls out. Give their video (see above) a watch and check out their other music and behind the scenes videos here. So that’s some of what I’m loving this week, what about you guys? If you’re loving these as well or you’ve got any new music recommendations for me or you just wanna say heeeeey, please give show some love in the comments below!

Until next time,
